Confessions of a Trans-Addict

I'm a Geekticon (as my cousin said). A Transformers enthusiast. I've memorized 98% of the characters in all continuities. I know the repeated names, repainted figures, the Japanese names, the pre-Transformers toys, the other non-Transformers toy lines.

When I was 6 or 7, I designed a simple transforming car costume made out of cardboard. Now I'm doing several costumes. Wow.

Soundwave was the first Transformer I wanted. Maybe someday I'll get a chance to have one. My brother and I had a few figures, which are still intact.

I keep my Transformers figures, comic and trade paperback collection in the safest way possible.

I think it's more than a hobby or interest. It's a passion.

enter Snake-Eyes

Aaarrgghh!
I was surprised to see the Snake-Eyes costume for the upcoming GI Joe movie.
Of all the other Snake-Eyes costumes, I chose the original all-black one, added the Arashikage symbol & customized the accessories.
Coincidentally, Ray Park's costume looks similar to mine!

A New Frontier

I saw the Justice League A New Frontier in DVD, and it triggered a nostalgic feeling.

Drawn in a 1950's style, Justice League A New Frontier presents (once more) the DC Heroes in a new twist. Batman is a vigilante (feared by kids). The larger-bodied Wonder woman's an ultra-feminist. Hal met the other meta-humans before his becoming a Green Lantern. Superman's costume is more of his dark other "Earth" counterpart Ultraman. Martian Manhunter having thick eyebrows.

Although this movie may be rated for its language and violence (characters saying "S.O.B." and Hal shooting a Korean soldier in the head).

80's DC fans will surely appreciate this movie.

Hal's drawing / animated version is the best.

Ten Years

I heard from some old high school batchmates. Plus a dream of a gathering with the whole batch the other day.
It seems like 10 years of my life skipped out on me. Seems I couldn't remember where I was.

Christmas Only In Da Philippines

CHRISTMAS ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES:

1. Carol Groups.  People who ask for alms, namedrop organizations, and use handicappedness as reason for begging.
2. Garbage collectors who demand "pamaskos". Ignore them just as they ignore their duties-- they bang your gates and curse you.
3. The noche buena. Never complete without a 1.5 liter of Coke.
4.  Parols (Christmas Lanterns) and Christmas lights.  Never a holiday without these. Always bring cheer from the richest snobs to the humblest poor.
5. Christmas Parties. Parlor games, awards, and the much -awaited raffle every year.
6. Longer traffic jams. Mostly caused by the jeepneys who need extras - - to buy booze and booze.
7. Long lines at the malls. A community on its own: the "singit", the inconsiderate show-off who repeatedly counts money, the annoying attention-seeking little boy, the pervert who keeps staring at you, and the snatcher.
8. Last-minute shoppers. The main players in a sport played every last few days before  Christmas and New Year's Eve.
9. Inaanaks. Suddenly, you had a godchild.
10. Anywhere strollers. Makes parks out of malls or even the simple overpass. The more you're on the rush, the more they get slower.
11. Nangangaroling. Give to one group and more will come. When you're out of goods to give, don't be surprised if the next day you find your dead dog, human feces at the lawn, a broken window and a death threat painted on your gate.
12. Inuman. Holidays are a great excuse to drink.

After all these years, the wait has ended.

It was a nostalgic experience, watching our childhood favorites come to life.

It was sort of an opposite of the 1986 animated movie, wherein Jazz died while Prime, Ironhide and Ratchet survived.

The cybertronian cast was also similar to the Armada series. In Transformers Armada, Prime's soldiers consisted of Hotshot (human-loving yellow sportscar), Red Alert (the medic SUV), Sideswipe (the smooth Autobot) and Smokescreen and Scavenger (both heavy duty vehicles).

Megatron had Starscream (jet), Demolishor (tank), Cyclonus (helicopter), Wheeljack (former Autoot car).

I don't clap my hands after a movie.

But in this one, I did.
